How to reset Advantage Voice portal passwords

This article tells you how to reset the group admin password and individual passwords your team uses to log in to the Advantage Voice (formerly SmartVoice) portal.

How to create a secure portal password

To secure and protect your Advantage Voice portal password follow these simple credential rules:

  • Cannot contain the login ID
  • Cannot contain the old password
  • Cannot be the reverse of the old password
  • Cannot be any of the last 3 passwords
  • Must be at least 12 characters
  • Must contain at least 1 number(s)
  • Must contain at least 1 non-alphanumeric character (special character)
  • Must contain at least 1 uppercase alpha character(s)
  • Must contain at least 1 lowercase alpha character(s) -

Resetting your Advantage Voice password

If you don't know your current password your group administrator can reset it for you or follow these easy steps:

  1. Go to voiceportal.shawbusiness.ca.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Enter your Advantage Voice username. It uses your ten-digit phone number followed by @shawbusiness.ca (g.1234567890@shawbusiness.ca). 
  4. The portal will then ask to validate your identity by providing two reference points:
    • Email address OR phone number
    • First name or Last name
    • If successful, a green checkmark will appear beside the inputted fields
  5. Select Validate
  6. Update your password. 

If you know your current password and want to change it follow these steps:

  1. Go to voiceportal.shawbusiness.ca
  2. Log in using your credentials.
  3. Navigate to Profile icon.
  4. Scroll down to Password reset section.
  5. Enter your old password and create a new password.
  6. Select Save.

Resetting passwords for others

  1. Go to voiceportal.shawbusiness.ca.
  2. Log in using your group administrator credentials.
  3. Select the Users icon.
  4. Search for the user whose password you want to reset by typing their first and/or last name or their phone number.
  5. Select the user’s Profile icon.
  6. Under Password, enter a new password in both fields.
  7. Select Save.

Resetting the group admin password

If you know your group admin password and just want to change it, follow the steps below. If you have forgotten or misplaced your group admin password, contact your support team at business.shaw.ca/contact-us and they will reset the password for you.

  1. Go to voiceportal.shawbusiness.ca.
  2. Select the Admins icon.
  3. Select the gear icon on the right-hand side to access the advanced menu.
  4. Toggle the Reset passcode to the right to enable the functionality
  5. Enter a new password in both fields.
  6. Select Save.
