How to host a Advantage Voice Meet-Me Conference Call

Learn how to moderate a Meet-Me conference call. Moderator controls will appear when you join a conference.

Note: Group administrators must first set up which users can manage conference setup and features. Learn more on Appoint Conference Hosts.

Create a Meet-Me conference call

Follow these steps to create a Meet-Me conference call and begin hosting your own conference calls.

  1. Go to smartvoice.shawbusiness.ca.
  2. Log in using your individual credentials.
  3. Select the Calling Features tab.
  4. Scroll down to Meet-Me Conferencing and select Add.
  5. In the Meet-Me Conference Add window, enter a Title for your conference.
  6. Enter an Account Code and set other details for your conference.
  7. Select Save.

Launch the conference moderator client

Follow these steps to launch the Meet-Me conference moderator client:

  1. Go to smartvoice.shawbusiness.ca.
  2. Log in using your individual credentials.
  3. Select the Calling Features tab.
  4. Scroll down to Meet-Me Conferencing and select View.
  5. Next to the conference listing, select Edit.
  6. Under Moderator Access, select Start Moderator Client.

Moderator client functions

Use the following Meet-Me Conference moderator client functions to host successful conference calls.

  • Conference Header Bar: Displays the moderator information, conference information (eg. name, ID, number, and security PINs), and basic controls.
  • Help & Sign Out Links: Links to help files and for the user to sign out.
  • Global Message Area: Displays any information, warning, or error message that needs to be communicated to the user, for 10 seconds.
  • General Controls: Perform actions during the conference, including: Lock/Unlock Conference, Start/Pause/Resume/Stop Recording, Lecture Mode, End Conference, and Call History.
  • Dialer: Allows you to add participants to the conference.
  • Message History Window: Lists the last 15 messages that were displayed in the Global Message Area, ordered from the most recent to the oldest.
