How To: Use Plantronics headsets with SmartVoice

Plantronics Voyager 3200 UC

Plantronics Voyager 3200 Bluetooth Supports:

  • Polycom VVX600 series: via USB adapter or Bluetooth
  • Panasonic Cordless Handset (DECT) Rugged & Slim via Bluetooth

Plantronics Hub app

Installing the Plantronics Hub app is required to do things like view the headset battery meter, change languages, update firmware, enable softphone call control, and personalize settings and alerts. It’s also required to use the call answer/end function with the SmartVoice app, from the headset’s inline control on Windows.

To configure the SmartVoice app on a Windows PC (running Windows 7 and up):

  1. Download and install Plantronics Hub.
  2. Launch the SmartVoice desktop app and log in.
  3. Connect the headset to the computer's USB port.
  4. Wait for Windows to install the device driver software.
  5. Go to Preferences > Audio and verify that the headset appears in the following drop-down lists:
    • Voice Playback > Output Device
    • Voice Recording > Input Device
    • Alert Signal > Ringing Device
  6. Select the Plantronics headset for all three options.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Go to Preferences > Add-Ins.
  9. Select the checkboxes next to:
    • Allow 3rd party applications to access SmartVoice
    • Accept incoming requests by default
  10. Restart the SmartVoice app by going to the File menu and clicking Sign Out.
  11. If you are prompted to allow the API connection request from the connector/add-in device, click Enable.

Your Plantronic headset should now be ready to use.
