How to set up SmartVoice speed dial

SmartVoice speed dial services enable you to quickly dial a phone number using a speed code of your choosing.

Use the desk phone to assign a speed code

If you are subscribed to the Speed Dial 8 service:

  1. Lift the receiver.
  2. Dial ✱74.
  3. At the dial tone, enter any one-digit speed code (2-9).
  4. Enter a complete phone number.
  5. Press the # key.

If you are subscribed to the Speed Dial 100 service:

  1. Lift the receiver.
  2. Dial ✱75.
  3. At the dial tone, enter any two-digit speed code (00-99).
  4. Enter any complete phone number.
  5. Press the # key.

Use the web portal to assign a speed code

If you are subscribed to the Speed Dial 8 service:

  1. Go to smartvoice.shawbusiness.ca.
  2. Log in using your personal credentials.
  3. Click the Calling Features tab.
  4. Under Outgoing Calls, click Edit next to Speed Dial 8.
  5. Next to any Speed Code, enter a complete phone number. Include the country code (eg. “1” for North America) and area code. Exclude punctuation.
  6. Enter a name in the Name field.
  7. Repeat steps 5-6 to assign additional speed codes.
  8. Click Save.

If you are subscribed to the Speed Dial 100 service:

  1. Go to smartvoice.shawbusiness.caa.
  2. Log in using your personal credentials.
  3. Click the Calling Features tab.
  4. Under Outgoing Calls, click Edit next to Speed Dial 100.
  5. Under Speed Dial Code 100, select a two-digit speed code from the dropdown list.
  6. Under Phone Number, enter a complete phone number. Include the country code (eg. “1” for North America) and area code. Exclude punctuation.
  7. Under Description, enter a description.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Repeat steps 5-8 to assign additional speed codes.
  10. Click Save.

Import and export speed code lists

Speed Dial 100 subscribers also have the option of importing and exporting speed code lists as .CSV files. This can be useful if you want to share your speed codes with a colleague.

  1. Go to smartvoice.shawbusiness.ca.
  2. Log in using your personal credentials.
  3. Click the Calling Features tab.
  4. Under Outgoing Calls, click Edit next to Speed Dial 100.
  5. To export your speed code list:
    • Under Export CSV, click Submit.
  6. To import a speed code list:
    • Under Import CSV, click Browse, select the .csv file, and click Upload.
  7. Click Save.

Make a call using a speed dial code

If you are subscribed to the Speed Dial 8 service:

  1. Lift the receiver.
  2. Dial the one-digit speed code (2-9).
  3. Press Send.

If you are subscribed to the Speed Dial 100 service:

  1. Lift the receiver.
  2. Press #.
  3. Dial the two-digit speed code (00-99).
  4. Press Send.
