Learn how to set up and configure your DMZ through your Hitron router settings. Customize your perimeter network through your business router with these tips.
Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) setup
The demilitarized zone (also known as the perimeter network) creates a sub-network that exposes specific device(s) that need wide open access to the Internet, while protecting the rest of the LAN network from this exposure. The goal is to limit the exposure to maintain better security.
- Log in to the Hitron Modem.
- Select Basic menu.
- Select the DMZ sub-menu.
- Change the Enable DMZ option to Enabled/Disabled, as needed.
- To add an internal device to DMZ, do one of the following:
- Input IP address into DMZ Host field.
- Select Connected Devices to choose from a list of currently connected devices.
Select Save Changes.
